The lovable and very talented Mary Chapin Carpenter was born on this day back in 1958. She burst onto the country music scene in 1991 when Down At The Twist And Shout made it all the way to number two on the Billboard Hot Country charts. While I love so many of her songs and videos, the video below is by far my favorite Mary Chapin Carpenter moment. It's from the 1990 CMA awards, and Mary was somewhat of an unknown outside of the Nashville music scene. She wasn't an unknown afterwards though... Enjoy!
